AP Technologies supply a wide range of high power LEDs from Opto Diode Corporation, the world leader in high peak power GaAlAs LEDs.
ODC's in-house wafer fabrication produces high reliability 750nm to 940nm NIR LEDs used world-wide in military and commercial covert illumination applications with night vision equipment and CCD/CMOS cameras. ODC also supply high volume industrial applications such as optical encoders.
ODC's long experience and expertise in LED packaging and optics is also used to provide high performance UV and visible LED solutions including "1 Watt" red, green and blue devices using industry-standard TO-39 metal packages for excellent thermal performance. These devices are available in wide- (110°) and narrow-angle (7°) versions.
For higher powers ODC's "Metal Reflector Array" (MRA) technology combines excellent thermal conductivity substrates with high optical efficiency beam-shaping reflectors giving full beam angles of 110°, 70°, and 40°.
Standard MRA devices on display at EuroLED are "UV" at 390-405nm, blue, green and red plus NIR at 830nm and 870nm, along with a prototype white device.
MRA devices can replace arrays comprising hundreds of moulded parts with a single, small footprint, low profile device requiring only two electrical connections and no additional optics. When compared with Chip-On-Board products MRA's optical efficiency means fewer LED chips for the same optical power - reducing excess heat.
